What is a laser used for?
A soft tissue laser is typically used to sculpture and reshape gingival tissue
during cosmetic procedures. In addition, hygienist will use the same laser to
debride and treat problem areas beneath the gums. The laser has an amazing ability
to kill periodontal bacteria and enhance the healing response of the body.
What is a Smile Makeover?
Smile Makeovers with porcelain veneers are a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure
whereby misshapen, discolored, worn, or twisted teeth are altered to enhance
a person’s smile. Porcelain veneers are strong, beautiful, and very natural
looking. Once bonded in place they feel like your own teeth. In just a few appointments,
you could have the smile of your dreams.
What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is nothing more than a metal screw placed in the jaw bone. It
acts like an anchor for a false tooth. Once in place, it looks, acts, and feels
like a natural tooth. Dental implants are a great option for anyone who is missing
a single tooth or multiple teeth.
What is our philosophy on silver/mercury fillings?
Our office has never placed a silver/ mercury filling and never will. We believe
this type of filling material is outdated and not a good choice. A few key facts
about silver/ mercury fillings:
1. Amalgam fillings release mercury. Mercury is a potentially harmful heavy metal
that needs to be shipped as a hazardous material.
2. Amalgam fillings fracture teeth. It is a well known fact that metal has to
expand and contract. This movement causes stress on surrounding tooth structure
and eventually causes teeth to break.
3. Amalgam fillings leak. Almost every silver filling has some sort of decay
underneath it. Unlike bonded fillings, amalgam fillings are not sealed to tooth
structure, so leakage is inevitable.
4. Amalgams darken a smile. Silver fillings appear black inside the mouth and
ultimately take away from a natural smile. Bonded composite fillings can restore
a tooth to it’s original appearance.
How will my insurance be handled?
Or goal is to provide our patients with the highest quality of dental treatment.
Unfortunately, insurance companies are out to make money so their views are not
always in the patient’s best interest. They maximize their profits by denying
claims or downgrading treatment to cheaper procedures. We know this is not only
the worst choice but often times the most expensive in the long run. Therefore
we refuse to compromise our quality of care based on insurance policies. We ask
that our patients pay for treatment at the time it is rendered, and we will immediately
file an insurance claim on their behalf. Please be assured that we will use all
necessary resources to allow maximum reimbursement from your insurance plan.
Is it possible to finance my dental treatment?
High quality dental treatment that is designed to last a long time can be quite
an investment. We fully understand this fact and have made available several
financing options, some of which are interest free, to meet your needs. Please
contact us for specific details.
